NEWS / COMMENTARIES

Make-A-Wish Auction

I regret to announce that I need to postpone this auction once again. Same reason, more interviews on the East Coast. I wont predict a date that it will take place, sometime in April where I know I will be in town for a continual week.

Collector meeting in Cape Town

Submitted by: Klaus Warschkow <kw@intekom.co.za>

On May 17, World Telecommunication Day is celebrated. As part of this celebration, the Telkom Exploratorium will be hosting a Phone Card Workshop from May 14 d May 15.

The Telkom Exploratorium is a science & technology centre. Its aim is to make people aware of the role that telecommunication and technology plays in every day life. As the 21st century will be the century of technology, there is no better time than right now to start with the awareness of the technology of phone cards.

For the first time in South Africa, all phone card collectors will have the opportunity to meet on an annual basis. Not only is this event of value to collectors, but interested members of the public will be made aware of this hi-tech hobby.

The workshop will consist of two parts. One day will be devoted to serious phone card collecting and the second day to making the general public aware of phone cards.

Proposed programme:

A limited amount of tables will be available for dealers.

In order to assist us in organising this event, it will be appreciated if you could forward us feedback on the following:

If you have any requests or need additional information please contact: Stuart Hopwood at HopwooSJ@TELKOM.CO.ZA
