NEWS / COMMENTARIES

2nd Annual Children’s Charity Auction

I’m pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Card Mall Children’s Charity Auction will take place in November, 1998. An exact date is being worked out, and will be announced as soon as it is set. Like last year, this auction will benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last year, dozens of dealers, issuers, and collectors got together to donate hundreds of phonecards. Additionally, over 100 bidders were involved, and over $3600 was raised for the charity – This far outdid the pre-bid estimate of $1000. Just like last year, 100% of proceeds are donated to charity. There are no administrative fees being taken out to run the auction, and the postage costs on all lots is on me! Please call me at 888 783-6255, or fax (310) 73401529, e-mail, or just send anything you can to:

The Card Mall

Attn: Charity Auction

1042 N. Mountain Ave. Suite B-339

Upland, CA 91786

Donations are tax deductible, and you will receive a letter stating the current retail value of your donation. Thank you in advance for any donations.

Long Beach Show

It doesn’t seem like it has been very long since the last Long Beach show, but it is that time again. This show happens three times a year, and this is the last show for 1998. If you are in the Southern California area, this is a show that you want to attend. It is being held at the Long Beach Convention Center. There will be at least a few phonecard dealers, and perhaps more than usual. You will definitely be able to see USACards, Ginnie Katchur, Steve Eyer, Carson City King, plus a few others. I will be at the show on Thursday and Saturday, so be sure to ask for me at one of the phonecard booths. Additionally, there will be a collector’s dinner on Thursday evening. Please e-mail me for details if you need them.
