Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Card

From: Lisa Scott

Don't know if I have seen this in a newsletter yet, but Avon is coming out with a Pre-paid phone card. This card, available for one Avon campaign only, is $5.00. The promotional literature I have received doesn't list the amount of time you get. The card is rechargeable with any major credit card and all proceeds, including the recharge, go to Avon's Breast Cancer Awareness Crusade.

I am an Avon representative and if anyone would like to order one they can send me $5.00 (cash or money order only) plus a SASE. The orders must be in by the 8th of November and it is available only this one campaign. My address is:

Mississauga,Ontario, Canada , 10 October, 1996 -- Phonetime International Inc. announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Breeders' Cup of Lexington Kentucky, to produce the first ever Breeders' Cup Phonetime Long Distance Phonecards.

Three types of cards will be available; Retail, Collector Set and Jumbo Poster Phonecard.

The Retail card offers 30 minutes of Long Distance (USA or Canada) and features this generation's top horse Cigar, winning last years Breeders' Cup Classic. It will be available at Racetracks, Retail Stores and Collectible Dealers throughout North America for a retail price of $20. Not since Secretariat raced over two decades ago has there been a horse like Cigar. He has attained superstar status.

The Limited Edition - Collector Set includes 4 cards in a custom Folders that includes a brief history of the Breeders' Cup. Only 2,500 matched serial numbered sets of this very exclusive package will be produced. The set offers a total of 60 minutes of Long Distance Phonetime and will sell for $60.

The JUMBO Poster Phonecard will also feature Cigar in the same image as the 30 minute card, except the size will be a huge 11" x 17". Believed to be the World's Largest Phonecard, it will be suitable for framing. It has a face value of $100 and will offer 100 minutes of Phonetime. No more than 500 of this stunning card will be produced.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to work with the Breeders' Cup to produce the first ever series of Breeders' Cup - Phonetime Long Distances cards," say Wayne Silver Vice-President and co-owner of Phonetime International. "This year's Breeders' Cup at Woodbine Racetrack, in Toronto, is most certainly the greatest, single day, sporting event ever held in Canada - we are very proud to be part of this historic day. The Breeders' Cup is truly a global event and what better way to communicate world-wide than by making a long distance call using the Breeders' Cup Phonetime cards. They will be one of the few souvenirs that will have universal appeal, since virtually everybody makes long distance calls to their friends and family. The Breeders' Cup Phonetime cards will also make a great gift or stocking stuffer for Christmas. Best of all, Phonetime cards can be used continuously by simply calling a Toll Free number or through e-mail to add more time to the card once it has been used up. We anticipate a high demand from collectors and horse racing fans around the world who will want these unique cards which have the potential to increase substantially in value over time."
